The extension was cranked to make the most of good views out from the corner of the new living room, and to avoid closing in the front court too much.

The house looks bigger than it is, with some quite low ceilings. We tried to get good daylight and a sense of space in the extension, whilst keeping the floor levels the same as the existing house.
