A house for horses and other animals became one for people.

The construction and running of the house were based on principles of low impact and energy consumption. Running costs (as far as the owners are able to establish so far), seem to be very low and with monitoring and slight adjustments could reduce further.

The stables were not listed but conversion allowed continued use of a type of structure that is an important part of the landscape it inhabits.
