This is a small structure built within the grounds of a primary school, for use by pupils and the wider community for times when being outside is good, but cover is essential.

It was designed to allow other bits to be easily added as ideas and funds allow. We have had some integrated benches made and fixed, and a chain allows for things to be added around the perimeter. This could include temporary and lightweight enclosure.

We applied for a series of interconnected grants for the structure and additional elements which will increase its scope of uses over time.

Although not for exclusive school use, we spent time with pupils early on to gather ideas about how they would like to see it used and what things could be added. We hoped it would encourage them to consider it as an evolving thing that they have a role in changing as and when. So far this seems to to be working...
