Hello there, and thanks for visiting.
First of all, we are in the process of updating this website, so apologies if it doesn't look or work as it should. We're on the case. Anyway...
Spacescape are architects and landscape architects.
We design buildings and the spaces around and between them.
By careful consideration of what exists, what is required and what is possible, we look beyond the obvious to find the best solution. We are committed to making environments that work well but are also special in some way. This can often be done for the same or less cost than standard solutions.
Each project is approached from first principles so as to optimise potential and fully exploit opportunities.
We aim to avoid or at least minimise waste - of time, money and resources. And especially space. This is best done by thinking things through early in the process. A good starting point is an initial sketch study to set out how things might go, and can be the basis for the right decisions.
Integrated sustainability has always been an essential element of our approach, so we tend not to go on about it. A properly sustainable project is one that is well used for a long time; that's what we strive for with all of ours.
We'd be very happy to discuss any ideas you might have, and suggest ways we could help you with them.

"We have been completely satisfied with all aspects of Spacescape's work. Nick has been very accommodating especially when my wife and I were making last minute changes. Nick's brilliant design statement he put forward for us to support our planning application was, I believe, the difference between us obtaining planning consent and not.” Andy Kennedy |
"Working with Spacescape was a pleasure in that I had my own ideas for the loft conversion to my house and after a thorough discussion with Nick we formulated the way forward with Nick ad vising me also on what would and would not be acceptable to the planning authorities. Also, Nick overcame some pretty tight constraints on the project and the actual outcome was excellent from a practical point of view" . "We decided to change the loft above our garage into an extra bedroom, but weren't sure whether it would be big enough or possible, as it wasn't accessible from inside the house. Nick came and met with us several times to discuss the plans, and during construction he was on hand to support and guide. We now have a lovely bedroom - which is much bigger than I could have imagined. Nick was great, offered great guidance whilst keeping us very much in control of the decisions. Would highly recommend Spacescape and we love our new room.” Carol & Chris Bennell |
